  1. Technical sources are the documents your knowledge comes from: manuals, service bulletins, reports and records.
  2. Upload a new document. Several files at once work too.
  3. Name it and say where it applies: the type and version, the machine model and revision, the language and the date.
  4. Upload it.
  5. ServLore reads the document page by page and makes every sentence searchable.
  6. Then an AI extraction turns it into knowledge items, which wait as AI extracted until an expert has checked them.
  7. When a new edition arrives, upload it as a new version, or mark the old document as superseded.

Technical sources is the library of documents your knowledge comes from: manuals, service bulletins, service reports and tickets, maintenance records, spare-parts catalogues, error-code tables, procedures, engineering notes and drawings. PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, text and images up to 200 MB each are accepted, scanned pages included.

  1. Open Technical sources and choose Upload source.
  2. Under File, choose one or more files. With several files, each becomes its own source, named after its file.
  3. Give the source a Name and describe it: Source type, Document version, Product family, Machine model and Revision, Language, Publication date and Effective date, and the serial number range it applies to.
  4. Tick Internal only if external partners must not see it.
  5. Choose Upload source. ServLore reads the document page by page; the source’s page shows the Extracted text, page by page.
  6. The Knowledge extraction then turns the document into knowledge items. They arrive as AI extracted and wait in Verification for an expert.

When a manual is revised, open the source and choose Upload new version, with a note on what changed. If the new edition is a separate document, choose Mark as superseded on the old one and pick its replacement. Knowledge from superseded and obsolete sources is no longer offered as current.

  • Knowledge extraction uses AI. Uploading a file that is byte for byte identical to an existing one is reported as a duplicate instead of being extracted again.
  • A source that knowledge was built from cannot be deleted; mark it obsolete instead.
  • Owner and Components on the source page say who keeps it and which parts it covers.
